Reel People Models & Talent
Reel People Models & Talent prides itself on having a wide selection of the most qualified models & talent in the area. Our clients are located coast to coast, but the majority of work performed is located in the immediate Omaha, Lincoln, Sioux City, Sioux Falls and Des Moines areas. However, through conferences, we can offer you connections to bigger markets. To gain the experience needed in any market, follow this basic plan:
WORKSHOPS/EDUCATION - Schedule a print, runway, or acting workshop and listen to your agent. Read books about acting and modeling.
We work with our clients and know what they want from talent. You must be prepared to take constructive criticism from us. We will represent you fairly and promote you in every area you are qualified for. We want to keep communications open with you at all times. Let us know what is happening with your career.
PHOTO SHOOTS - Schedule a photo shoot with the photographer (Donnie).
Although other photographers (that you find on your own) are acceptable, the agency photographer will offer the fastest service with the most convenience when trying to produce your promotional materials. As you plan for your photo shoot, you will need a variety of shots. These should include head-shots, fashion, catalogue, sportswear, body-shots, movement shots, etc. Learn to be a little daring, but in the midwest market, a fabulous natural smile is the most important. After the shoot, an appointment will be scheduled to review your photos and plan the promotional materials. Allow the agency to approve photos from any other photographers, as well.
COMP CARDS - Your comp cards or headshots are your introduction
to the clients who hire the talent for their project. Of course they need to make a great "first impression", but because they are disposable (your comp cards or headshots need to be re-placed or updated routinely), you shouldn't be spending a tremendous amount of money on them. Reel People staff can help you with this all-important project.
MARKET YOURSELF - It is your responsibility to keep your agent's file updated.
Let us know if your telephone, address, hair, weight, etc. changes. Keep an adequate supply of comps cards/headshots, demo tapes, resumes, etc. on file with us. This is very important if you want to work.
Realize that promoting yourself is an ongoing effort. Your portfolio should be high quality and kept current. It is a model's most valuable investment. The agency's web site is the most feasible method of promoting our talent to the world. You can include as many photos as your agent recommends and include a resume with statistics. We never include your last name or personal contact information for security reasons.
GET INVOLVED - Participate in the activities, promotions, and workshops
provided by or recommended by the agency. We want you to have "open doors" of opportunity. These can lead you to the next step toward success in your career. With Reel People, these include the national talent conferences, Model Connection, Image Makers, and various promotions for the talent as a group.
